Alice of Nepal

July 30, 2012

Now here’s a curious story. A few months ago, Sparkle Hayter went on a writing retreat to India. During a trip to Nepal to renew her visa, a bedraggled, half-starved puppy crossed her path. Sparkle tried to find a decent home for it, but the puppy refused to be with anyone else. So, despite the fact that Sparkle is a poor, wayward writer with no fixed address – and a cat person to boot – she adopted the dog and named her Alice.

Now, to help fund the insanely heroic process of getting Alice from Nepal to India to Canada, she is writing the story of the journey and asking for donations. You can read Part 1 for free right *here*

As you will see, it is a quixotic, moving tale and all proceeds go toward helping a wonderful dog, so it is more than worth the $10 to keep on reading.

For those who don’t know Sparkle, she’s the tremendously talented author of six books in the Robin Hudson series and two stand alone novels, Naked Brunch and Bandit Queen Boogie. You can learn more at her website *here* or her Wiki page *here*
